About Sydney TA (Technical Analysis) Chat Group
The Sydney TA Chat Group will specialise in two elements of Technical Analysis:
- Chart Analysis – How to interpret or read a chart using commonly accepted Technical Analysis techniques. These principles may apply to stocks, indices, commodities or FX pairs. These discussions should assist members towards improving their knowledge and TA skills towards understanding charts. Commonly accepted Technical Analysis techniques may include: trendlines, support and resistance levels, indicators, patterns, Fibonacci, Ichimoko etc.
- Rules Based Trading Systems – How to design, develop and operate a Rules Based Trading System, with a supporting documented Trading Plan. In conjunction with this topic, we will operate a special “SIG model portfolio”.
The Special Interest Group meetings will have a very different approach compared to conventional ATAA Sydney member meetings. Some of the differences will be:
- These meetings will be very casual affairs and will have a less rigid schedule.
- The meetings will be held monthly, on Saturdays for 4 – 5 hours, and should allow more opportunity to study these Technical Analysis subject matters in significantly greater detail.
- The emphasis will be on spending as much time as a discussion takes. A member fully comprehending and understanding what is being discussed, as a learning experience, will be the key objective.
- We will not use external presenters, like conventional ATAA meetings. Presentations will be conducted by ATAA members who have the experience in these two subject matters, and presentations will be limited to “technical explanations” on matters directly related to Chart Analysis or Rules Based Trading Systems.
